Copper Ore farming

Copper Ore farming

Copper Ore is the lowest level ore that you can farm. It comes from Copper Veins and mostly found at the starting areas and in lower level zones.
There is not much difference between the zones where you can farm Copper Ore, but the zones listed below are slightly better than the other alternatives. If you are below level 20, you should stay at the zone where you are questing currently, there will be plenty of Copper Ore there.

Copper Ore

Durotar - Horde

Durotar is an excellent place to farm Copper Ore, there are a few caves in this zone and usually there are 3-4 Copper Veins inside those caves.

Darkshore - Alliance

Darkshore is the best place for Alliance players. Even Horde players can go there with flying mount. I was able to get 200 Copper Ore with just one lap in this zone.

Tin Ore farming

Tin Ore farming

Tin Ore is the second-easiest ore to mine, you will need 50 Mining to mine Tin. You can use your smelting ability and turn all your Tin Ore into Tin Bar. This farming guide will list the places where I was able to farm the most amount of Tin in the least amount of time. Farming Tin Ore will be easy because there is loads of it in most lower level zone.

Tin Ore

Hillsbrad Foothills

Alterac Mountains in Hillsbrad Foothills is simply the best place to mine Tin Ore. The place is marked with red on the map. If you run out of Veins, just do a lap around the mountains until they respawn. This place can be a bit harder to reach for lower level Alliance players because it's a horde zone.

Northern Stranglethorn

Northern Stranglethorn is a great alternative if you can't go to Hillsbrad for some reason, but I prefer Hillsbrad.
These are the best zones if you want to farm Tin Ore

Iron Ore farming

Iron Ore farming

Mining Iron Ore requires minimum mining skill of 100. Iron Deposits may be found in many areas where the typical creature level is between about 25 and 35. This Iron Ore farming guide will list the places where you can get the most Iron.

Iron Ore

Feralas

You will find Iron anywhere you go in Feralas, it's the best place to mine Iron. You could actually just do laps at the northern area without going to the southern area.

Western Plaguelands

Western Plaguelands is also an excellent place to farm Iron, just don't go to Hearthglen because there is no ore there. Stick to route I recommend.
These are the best zones if you want to farm Iron Ore.

Mithril Ore farming

Mithril Ore farming

This Mithril Ore farming guide will list the places where I was able to farm the most Mithril in the least amount of time. Mithril Ore requiring a mining skill of 150 or more.
The zones listed below are not really different from each other, you will usually get the same amount of Mithril no matter which one you choose.

Mithril Ore

Burning Steppes

Burning Steppes is a great place to mine Mithril. You will find a mountain called Deadmaul Rock, there are loads of Mithril Deposits inside the caves there, but you have to fight mobs and you will get dismounted if you go inside. I recommend just leave this place alone, there is plenty of Mithril at the corner of the map if you just follow the route I recommend.

Badlands

Badlands is pretty close to Burning Steppes, so if there is someone already farming there you can go to Badlands or if you level is not high enough to go to Burning Steppes. This zone has an easy and simple loop to follow.
I marked a cave with a red X on the map, only go there if your level is a lot higher than the mob's level in the cave. It's full of Mithril but there is a bunch of mobs there, so you will actually get less Mithril if you can't kill the mobs fast enough.

Felwood

The route in Felwood is really simple and easy to follow which makes this an excellent place for farming Mithril Ore, just run a big loop around the zone.
These are the best zones if you want to farm Mithril Ore

Thorium Ore farming

Thorium Ore farming

This Thorium Ore farming guide will list the places where I was able to farm the most amount of Thorium in the least amount of time. There are a two types of Thorium Veins you will encounter on these routes, small and rich. Rich Thorium Veins requires a mining skill of 215 while the Small ones requires 200. I would recommend to get your mining up to 215 before you start farming Thorium Ore.

Thorium Ore

Winterspring

I believe Winterspring is the best place for mining Thorium, there is so much Rich Thorium veins in this zone. You could actually just go off the route that I recommend and you will still find Thorium everywhere.

Un'Goro

The reason I like Un'Goro is because of the layout of the zone, one big loop around the zone and that's it. It's so easy to farm there.

Silithus

Silithus is also an excellent place to farm Thorium. There are bunch of caves filled with bugs, don't go inside them. If you go inside the caves you will have to fight mobs and you will get dismounted. You might also get lost in those caves because it is hard to find out.
These are the best zones if you want to farm Thorium Ore.

Fel Iron Ore farming

Fel Iron Ore farming

This Fel Iron Ore farming guide will show you the best place for mining Fel Iron Ore. You need a Mining skill of 275 if you want to farm Fel Iron Ore and you can only farm it at Outland.
You will notice that this ore is a lot less common than Thorium or any other ores in Azeroth, this is the reason why Fel Iron is usually expensive at the Auction House.

Fel Iron Ore

Hellfire Penninsula

Hellfire Penninsula is the best place where you can farm Fel Iron. The route below is the one that I think will give you the most ore. The respawn time is fast enough that you don't have to go around in the whole zone, but if you notice someone else farming in the zone, you might want to try just to go in a big loop near the edge of the mountains.

Zangarmarsh

Zangarmarsh is a good alternative to Hellfire Penninsula if it's heavily farmed by players. (usually it is)

Adamantite Ore Farming

Adamantite Ore Farming

This Adamantite Ore farming guide will show you the best places for mining Adamantite Ore. There are two types of Adamantite Deposit, one if them is the normal Adamantite Deposit and there is also Rich Adamantite Deposit. The normal requires mining 325, while Rich Adamantite Deposit requires 350. This means it is recomennded to have at least mining 350 before you go farm Adamantite Ore.
I must also mention that Khorium Veins are a rare spawn of Adamantite Deposits, much like Truesilver is a rare spawn of Mithril, so sometimes you will find a few Khorium too. A mining skill level of 375 is required to mine Khorium veins.

Adamantite Ore

Nagrand

Nagrand is the best place to farm Adamantite Ore. I marked a few caves with a red X on the map. You can usually find one or two Adamantite Deposits in those caves so you should go into them.

Netherstorm

Netherstrom is also an excellent place to farm Adamantite Ore. Just like in Nagrand, I marked two caves with a red X on the map.

Cobalt Ore Farming

Cobalt Ore Farming

This Cobalt Ore farming guide will show you the best places for mining Cobalt Ore. Cobalt Deposit requires a mining skill of 350 but you will also find a few Rich Cobalt Deposits which requires mining 375. Rich Cobalt Deposits are very rare, so mining 350 is enough for farming Cobalt Ore.

Cobalt Ore

Howling Fjord

Howling Fjord is the best place for mining Cobalt Ore. The respawn rate is fast, but this zone is usually heavly farmed on higher population realms, so you might want to try out the other alternatives below.

Borean Tundra

Borean Tundra is also an excellent place if you don't like Howling Fjord for some reason, or if someone else is farming there.

Grizzly hills

Great farming place, usually very few players are farming there.

Zul'Drak

You will find a few Saronite Deposit in this zone but it's mostly just Cobalt Ore if you stick the the lower part of the map.

Saronite Ore Farming

Saronite Ore Farming

This Saronite Ore farming guide will show you the best places for mining Saronite Ore. This ore is mined from Saronite Deposits or Rich Saronite Deposits. Saronite Deposit requires a mining skill of 400 and Rich Saronite Deposits requires mining 425.
I must also mention that Titanium Veins are rare mining nodes that primarily spawn in areas where you will find Saronite Deposits. Titanium Vein requires mining 450.

Saronite Ore

Wintergrasp

Wintergrasp is the best zone for farming Saronite. The respawn rate is fast and there are a lot of Rich Saronite Deposits. The only disadvantage is that you can't use flying mount when the battle for Wintergasp is in progress.

Sholazar Basin

Shoalzar Basin is also an excellent zone. The best part is that if someone is already farming here, you can just try Wintergasp because these two zones are really close to each other.

Obsidium Ore Farming

Obsidium Ore Farming

This Obsidium Ore farming guide will show you the best places for mining Obsidium Ore. Obsidium Ore can be mined from Obsidium Deposits. A mining skill of 425 is required.

Obsidium Ore

Mount Hyjal

Mount Hyjal is the best zone for farming Obsidium if you hate Vashj'ir. For some reason most people hate to go to Vashj'ir but I prefer to farm there.

Vashj'ir - Shimmering Expanse

Shimmering Expanse is my favorite place for farming Obsidium. This route is just so easy to follow and the respawn rate is fast enough to farm here without waiting for the ores to respawn. This place is not that good if many players are farming here.

Vashj'ir - Abyssal Depths

If you can't farm at Shimmering Expanse because it's crowded with other players, you can try Abyssal Depth. It's almost as good as Shimmering Expanse.

Elementium Ore Farming

Elementium Ore Farming

This Elementium Ore farming guide will show you the best places for mining Elementium Ore. A mining skill of 475 is required for mining Elementium Vein and 500 for Rich Elementium Vein.
I must also mention that Pyrite Deposits are rare spawns of Elementium Deposits in Uldum and Twilight Highlands. A minimum mining skill of 525 is needed to mine Pyrite.

Elementium Ore

Twilight Highlands

Twilight Highlands the best zone for farming Elementium Ore.

Uldum

You can also go to Uldum to farm Elementium.

Ghost Iron Ore Farming

Ghost Iron Ore Farming

This Ghost Iron Ore farming guide will show you the best places for mining Ghost Iron Ore. There are two types of Ghost Iron Deposit, one if them is the normal Ghost Iron Deposit and there is also Rich Ghost Iron Deposit. You can mine this ore from skill 1, but you will only get [Ghost Iron Nugget] until you reach Mining skill 450-500 (10 nuggets makes one ore). Keep in mind you will not have access to flying mounts until you reach level 90. You won't farm Ghost Iron Ore that efficiently before you reach level 90.
I must also mention that Trillium Veins are rare spawn of Ghost Iron Deposits.

Ghost Iron Ore

Valley of the Four Winds

Valley of the Four Winds is the best place to farm Ghost Iron Ore, but sometimes it can get a bit busy because of the Tiller daily quests. If you don't have flying mount, just skip the part where you have to go on top of that mountain.

Jade Forest

Jade Forest is also a great place to farm, especially if you are not level 90 yet. This route is mainly designed if you have a flying mount, but there is only a few places where you have to alter the route if you can't use flying mount yet.

Townlong Steppes

Townlong Steppes is another great place, there is usually very few people farming in this zone.

Warlords of Draenor: Professions Overview

Warlords of Draenor: Professions Overview

There are a lot of changes to professions in the new expansion, so I made this page to list what I gathered so far. I will update this page everytime I find something interesting in the new beta builds.

General changes

  • Direct combat benefits of Professions will be removed. This means you no longer have to level professions to get 0.5% dps increase, so leveling a profession will be more like a personal choice now.
  • Realm First profession achievements are gone.
  • Herbalism, Mining and Skinning will be easier to level. You can now pick herbs, harvest mineral nodes and skin animals without a required skill. The amount of ore/herb/leather you'll get is determined by your skill level. This is similar what we have now for herbs and ores in pandaria.
  • You can craft directly from your bank.
  • There are new Elemental reagents: [Sorcerous Air], [Sorcerous Earth], [Sorcerous Water], [Sorcerous Fire]
  • Stack size for many crafting materials is increasing to 200.
  • You can have up to three Garrison building generating materials for different professions. This is similar to how the Tiller's farm currently work.
  • Healing Potions no longer share a cooldown with other potions, but instead share a 60-second cooldown with Healthstones. The cooldown will not reset until the player leaves combat.

Alchemy

    • Most notable change is that every flask require an [Alchemical Catalyst], and some also require a [Metamorphic Crystal]. You can get these materials by making [Alchemist's Cauldron] using 20 x any [Warlords of Draenor herb] and 3 x [Blackrock Ore].
    • There are no flasks for primary stats, only two tiers of secondary stat flasks. Draenor Flasks provide 400 stats, and Greater Draenor Flasks provide 500.
Example:[Draenor Armor Flask] -> [Greater Draenor Armor Flask]

Archaeology

Blacksmithing

Most high level armors will use [Crucible Steel Ingot] and [Blackrock Steel Ingot]. We still don't know yet how you obtain these materials.
There are three tiers of crafted plate items: Draenic Steel (ilvl 637), Hardened Draenic Steel (ilvl 650), and Peerless Draenic Steel (ilvl 666). These are now connected via recipes in the following manner using the Draenic Steel Shoulders as an example:
637 - [Draenic Steel Shoulders]
  • 30 x Crucible Steel Ingot, 12 x Blackrock Steel Ingot
650 - [Hardened Draenic Steel Shoulders]
666 - [Peerless Draenic Steel Shoulders]
You can also use [Draenic Steel Breastplate Reinforcement Kit] to upgrade an armor.
Garrison building: The Forge

Cooking

Cooking recipes are split into two tiers. The weaker food grants 125 of a stat and requires a single piece of meat/fish. The stronger food grants 150 of a stat and requires two weaker dishes as well as an herb to cook.
Weaker food: [Blackrock Ham] - 1x Draenor Boar Flesh
Stronger food: [Blackrock Barbecue] - 1x [Blackrock Ham], 1x [Grilled Gulper], 1x Fireweed

Enchanting

Weapon Enchants:
  • [Mark of Blackrock] - Permanently enchants a melee weapon to sometimes increase armor by 500 for 12 sec. Effect can only occur when you are below 50% health.
  • [Mark of Shadowmoon] - Permanently enchants a melee weapon to sometimes increase Spirit by 500 for 15 sec. Effect can only occur when you are below 50% mana.
  • [Mark of the Frostwolf] - Permanently enchants a melee weapon to sometimes increases multistrike by 500 for 6 sec. Effect can stack 2 times.
  • [Mark of the Shattered] - Hand Permanently enchants a melee weapon to sometimes bleed your enemy for 5733 to 6662 damage over 6 sec.
  • [Mark of the Thunderlord] - Permanently enchants a melee weapon to sometimes increase your critical strike by 500 for 6 sec. While active, critical heals and attacks may extend the duration.
  • [Mark of Warsong] - Permanently enchants a melee weapon to sometimes increase haste by (100 * 10), diminishing by 10% every 2 sec.

Engineering

  • It has been stated in interviews that some tinkers will become BoE in Warlords and will not require Engineering.
  • There are three versions of each pair of Warlords goggles, at levels 620, 650, and 675.
  • New BoP gun that has three versions, at levels 620, 675, 700.
  • Ranged weapon enchants: [Megawatt Filament], [Oglethorpe's Missile SplitterLinks]
  • [Blingtron 5000] - While he will give out gifts to players once per day, he will also fight other Blingtron units to the death. (4 Hrs Cooldown)
  • [Walter] - Attempts to assemble Walter, the world's laziest waiter and butler, who might help out for up to 10 min. Jeeves can grant bank access to his creator. For everyone else, he sells some fairly terrible food. (1 Hour Cooldown)
  • [GUMM-E] - MOLL-E usable by non-Engineers.
  • [Findle's Loot-A-Rang] - non-Engineer version of the Loot-A-Rang.
  • [Gearspring Parts] - Seems to be something you get by fixing or creating devices.
  • [World Shrinker] - Only for Gnomish engineers.
  • [Ultimate Gnomish Army Knife] - Not a combat rez, but will work 100% of the time. Side effects on the engineer may still occur.
  • [Wormhole Centrifuge]: New Engineering wormhole
  • Garrison Building: Engineering Works

Fishing

  • For each fish type, there are 3 sizes of fish: Small, Normal, Enormous. It will depend on your fishing skill which one you can catch, but it's still unclear how to catch Enormous, you might need more than just fishing skill. All of these fish can be opened. It is likely that the Small, Normal and Enormous sizes will contain different volumes of Flesh (example: [Fat Sleeper Flesh]), and that Flesh will be used in cooking recipes.
  • Each fish type has a specific named bait, which can only be used in the appropriate zone. The purpose of this bait is currently unclear.
  • Garrison building: Fishing Shack

Herbalism

Inscription

Draenor Research - Discovers a glyph recipe that uses Ink of War. If you know all the Ink of War glyphs, you will instead learn a glyph that uses any lesser ink.

Jewelcrafting

  • Unlike gem sockets today, gem sockets in Warlords of Draenor will be rarer but more powerful. They have a small chance to be on an item
  • Primary stats, so strength, intellect and agility, will no longer be gem-able. Only secondary stat gems including Spirit and Bonus Armor.
  • Meta gems and socket bonuses are removed.
  • Garrison building: Gem Boutique
  • Two vanity items: [Prismatic Focusing Lens], [Reflecting Prism]

Leatherworking

  • Not much data yet.
  • It's very likely that we will see a similar crafting system to Blacksmithing. There will be three tiers of crafted leather items: (ilvl 637), (ilvl 650), and (ilvl 666). These will be connected via recipes. For example, to craft an ilvl 650 armor, you need the ilvl 637 armor and a few other materials.
  • Garrison building: The Tannery
